Interesting Notes:You begin your Florida adventure at the spacious and comfortable visitor center and see a brief video on the working ranch and its many faces

  • Discover prehistoric Florida ecosystems as you ride for 2 hours on an elevated coach (4-wheel drive) through wet and dry savannahs, flatwoods, creeks and hammock, where you may see gray fox, white-tail deer, otter, alligator, varities of snakes, turkey, sandhill crane, bald eagle, swallow-tailed kite, several species of vulture and hawk - maybe even a caracara or a whooping crane (one of the rarest birds in world)
  • Learn how ecosystems are nurtured and protected by fire, flood and drought; how indigenous plants engulfed in flames ignited by lightning have adapted to survive; how Native Americans and early settlers used the various plants and animals function together to keep harmony and balance in nature
  • Experience a wilderness that time has forgotten.
  • Enjoy the quiet beauty of cypress domes, a cool swamp laced with a black-water creek and endless stretches of pine trees, palms and palmetto

In the early afternoon we head to Cypress Lake for an exciting airboatride.
